Reasons for Sinking Driveway Concrete

If you live in a home long enough, you will eventually notice signs of decay in your driveway. If you’re lucky, this may take the form of driveway settlement- also referred to as driveway sinking- which is when a driveway slab lowers, but generally does not crack. This is usually caused by a failure to properly prepare the soil prior to pouring a concrete slab, or due to erosion underneath the concrete. In either case, the driveway is settling because of improper soil density underneath the concrete. While this is an annoying problem to have, it doesn’t have to be expensive or a hassle to correct.

Lifting and Leveling Driveway Concrete Slabs

Driveway concrete slabs are the perfect size for our method of foam lifting, giving us plenty of area to inject our expanding polyurethane quickly and discretely. As our material expands underneath the concrete, all of the gaps that have been allowing the driveway slabs to sink are filled in and reinforced. Once the soil is properly compacted, the driveway slab begins lifting back up to it’s original position. The entire process usually takes about an hour, and can be completed without any downtime. At most, you may have to move your vehicle while we work, but can move it back to your driveway as soon as we are done.
